New Chair in Science and Innovation Studies
Dr. Robert Tijssen (CWTS) has been appointed full professor ‘Science and Innovation Studies’, as of May 1st 2010. He will be responsible for further development of the CWTS R&D programme in this field, as well as associated teaching and training activities.

Full professor of Science and Innovation Studies. MSc psychology, Leiden University (mathematical psychology, applied statistics), PhD in Science Studies, Leiden University (1992). Visiting professor at Stellenbosch University (South Africa).

Interests and activities
His academic interests and research activities are broad, varying from research assessment methodologies, bibliometric evaluation of research performance, science indicators and university rankings, as well as studies of university-industry R&D and science-innovation linkages.
