On May 27, 2004, Caroline Bokhorst earned her PhD-degree at Leiden University.

The title of her thesis was Attachment in twins. A behavioral genetic study on infant-mother and infant-father attachment.

She was supervised by Prof.Dr. M.H. van IJzendoorn and Dr. M.J. Bakermans-Kranenburg.
