Childhood precursors of adulthood psychosis
This project is a large follow-up study of individuals that were diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder in childhood. 7000 former patients of the Child Psychiatry department of the University Medical Centre Utrecht are now adult and included in our follow-up study.
Our aim is to link, in a prospective manner, childhood behavioural and cognitive factors to adult outcome in terms of severity of psychopathology. Our specific interest is to identify developmental pathways to psychosis, both with respect to childhood clinical diagnoses as well as childhood cognitive risk factors.
