Lisette van Zonneveld studied Education and Child studies at Leiden University. In 2009 she started the ‘Developmental Psychopathology in Education and Child Studies’ research master’s programme, which included an internship of ten months at the Ambulatorium of Leiden University. She joined the neurospreekuur, where she acquired experience with neuropsychological diagnostic assessment. She also wrote her master’s thesis about neuronal activity during working memory performance in children and adolescents with Neurofibromatosis type I.

Since November 2011 Lisette has been working at the department of Clinical Child and Adolescent studies, on a project in cooperation with the Preventive Intervention Team (PIT) of the municipality of Amsterdam. In this project a screening instrument is developed to measure social learning in children who exhibit externalizing problem behavior. These children are at risk of developing antisocial behavior because they are the siblings of delinquents or children who show extreme school absenteeism. The goal of this project is to give tailored care and advice to save these children from criminal careers. In the process we hope to gain more knowledge about the underlying mechanisms of this behaviour.
