Bachelor Education and Child Studies
This bachelor's programme is taught in Dutch.
Language of the programme
This three-year bachelor's programme is taught in Dutch.
Topics
Education and Child Studies study two ancient phenomena:
- development and upbringing,
- and learning or teaching.
You are taught to analyse problems of upbringing and teaching so that subsequently you are able to come up with an appropriate solution. You can study young children and the people who raise them (i.e. parents, teachers), and the problems than can occur between them. Also, you can focus on the education and course of life of young people and adults.
Bachelor's programme
During the first year ('propedeuse') you are introduced to supporting sciences such as psychology, sociology and practical philosophy, and to the different subjects you can choose during the bachelor's programme: child and family studies, clinical child and adolescent studies, learning problems and impairments, educational studies and learning in professional contexts.
