Learning processes
Introduction
Educational Studies research focuses on the study of the learning process. Central topics include how it is that students learn (or fail to) learn, individual differences in children’s learning, preparing teachers to facilitate learning in different contexts and for different students.
The aim is to conduct research that increases our knowledge about these topics, but also to develop and test practical applications in educational settings. We investigate reading, writing, mathematics, content area learning, from the perspectives of cognition, motivation, and teacher training.
