The Negative Effects of Bullying
Bullying has been defined as a repetitive act of physical or verbal harassment towards a victim that is of inferior power. For almost forty years researchers have collected data on the potential negative effects of bullying.
Relying strongly on meta-analysis, our research group attempts to further the understanding of negative effects of bullying for both victims and bullies by statistically combining outcomes of past studies. Up to now, we have found bullying related sleeping problems, weapon carrying, non-suicidal self-injury, and suicidal thoughts and attempts, and we will continue to analyze how bullying affects those involved.
