It will analyse the effect that such a move had on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict dynamic and the developments that ensued within the Palestinian camp after Israel's withdrawal. The introductory lecture will conclude by examining Israel's most recent counter-terrorist operation, dubbed "Operation Cast Lead", carried out in the Gaza Strip during January 2009 as well as the local and regional repercussions this most recent conflagration has brought about. |
