Projects 'Crisis and Disaster Management'
A few examples of recent PLATO projects in the field of crisis and disaster management. PLATO is mainly responsible for the didactical and organizational aspects of training and practice.
Exercises and drills are an important part of crisis and disaster management. These exercises and drills are multifaceted processes that require good management. PLATO and NIFV/Nibra have developed a special trajectory for officials that are responsible for the managing of these processes: PMO ('Proces Manager Oefenen').
PMO consists of a training courses at various levels, a handbook, workshops and a newsflash.
Designing and carrying out exercises in the field of crisis and disaster management requires a broad set of knowledge, skills and competences. The officials responsible often feel a need for a solid theoretical basis for their policy.
PLATO and NIFV/Nibra have developed a training course to support these officials with designing effective exercises. The basis for this course are the 5 formats Effective Exercises. The use of these formats is recommended by the Dutch Ministry of the Interior.
