Martin Bartenberger is an external PhD candidate at the Institute of Political Science. He holds a Master degree in Political Science from the University of Vienna and has taught at the University of Vienna and the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
His dissertation focuses on the role of pragmatism in political crisis management. It addresses the question if pragmatism can be understood as a philosophy of (political) crisis management and discusses its elements using empirical examples.
His other research interests include the benefits and risks of public participation and collaborative governance and the potentials of experimentalist policy making.
