The Institute of Political Science has three different ways of PhD-research. Outside PhD researchers, who write their thesis in their own time supervised by a professor. PhD researchers who have a scholarship and are working on their thesis at the Institute of Political Science in Leiden. PhD researchers who have a three or four year appointment at the Institute of Political Science in Leiden.
