- "Decision making can be seen as the complex process of assigning values to different options, followed by choosing the option with the highest expected value. It is essential to understand how these mechanisms operate in a social context."
- Wouter van den Bos is a PhD student in the unit Developmental and Educational Psychology of the Institute of Psychology at Leiden University.
He received an MA in philosophy and an MSc in cognitive science, both at the University of Amsterdam. For the cognitive science master he spent 8 months as a visiting graduate student at Princeton University at the lab of Jonathan Cohen, where he worked on an fMRI project aimed at understanding the role of the mPFC in social cognition and reward processing.
His current research focuses on the neural correlates of developmental change in competition and collaboration using behavioral, autonomic and fMRI recordings in the Trust Game paradigm.
