Gerdien de Vries studied psychology at Leiden University. After her bachelor, she was admitted to the Research Master Social & Organizational Psychology in Leiden. She received her degree cum laude in July 2009. During her study, Gerdien worked as a research assistant for Professor Dr. Karen Jehn. This gave her the opportunity to get experienced in working with different research methods.

In fall 2008, Gerdien performed field research to the willingness to change and strategy preferences amongst civil servants. This was part of an internship at A+O fonds Gemeenten. She wrote her thesis at GITP Research about perceived pseudo-voice in organizations.

Research

From March 2010 until March 2014, Gerdien researches the impact of framing on the effectiveness of organizational communications about environmental technologies (CCS). She focuses on the influencing psychological mechanisms. Dr. Bart Terwel and Professor Dr. Naomi Ellemers are Gerdien’s supervisors.
