In 2007, Serena Does (photo: André van Haasteren) graduated as a Master of Science in Social and Organizational Psychology (cum laude) at Leiden University. Serena currently works at the same University as a PhD candidate, supervised by Prof. dr. Naomi Ellemers and dr. Belle Derks. She investigates the influence of morality framing (i.e., emphasizing moral ideals vs. obligations) on Whites' intergroup attitudes and motivation. For this end, she conducts experimental, field and psychophysiological research.

Research

Serena’s research focuses on the effects of morality framing on advantaged group members’ attitudes towards social equality and (the advancement of) disadvantaged group members. The aim of her research is to find meaningful ways in which members of dominant groups can be motivated to support the inclusion and upward mobility of subordinate groups, thus establishing more positive intergroup relations.
