I am a PhD student at the Health, Medical and Neuropsychology Unit of the Leiden University. I am interested in placebo and nocebo effects, especially with regard to physical sensations like itch or pain. My project focusses on the role of expectation induction mechanisms of conditioning and verbal suggestion in placebo and nocebo effects on itch, with an additional focus on individual differences and the modifiability of nocebo effects.
