Yvette Meuleman’s research focuses on self-management interventions in the treatment of patients with a chronic disease. More specifically, she is interested in the development, evaluation and implementation of self-regulation programs to support patients with chronic kidney disease in reducing their sodium intake. Her research activities include quantitative as well as qualitative research, the use of e-Health and innovative Lab-on-a-Chip technology in lifestyle interventions, investigating the role of psychosocial aspects in disease progression and exploring the needs of both patients and health care professionals with regard to behavioral support strategies. Furthermore, she teaches courses in psychosocial aspects of chronic disease, health promotion and disease prevention.
