Kiki Zanolie is a postdoctoral researcher in the Developmental and Educational Psychology unit of the Institute of Psychology at Leiden University.

She received her Master’s degree in Biological and cognitive psychology in 2005 at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. After obtaining her Master’s degree she worked for two years as a research assistant in the Brain & Development lab under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Eveline Crone. During this time she was interested in the neural mechanisms underlying feedback processing. In 2012 she received her PhD degree from the Erasmus University. She studied, from an embodied cognition viewpoint, how people represent abstract concepts by means of conceptual metaphors. She used psychophysiological measures such as ERPs and eyetracking.

Her current research in the Brain & Development lab concerns neural responses to social rejection in bargaining situations from a developmental perspective.
