Toon Kerkhoff studied history and philosophy at the University of Amsterdam (1998 – 2005) with specializations in social and political philosophy and early modern Dutch history. After graduation he has worked several months as an archivist for the faculty of Metamedica of the Free University of Amsterdam.
Since september 2006 he has been working as a PhD-student at the Institute of Public Administration (Leiden University). He conducts historical comparative research (as part of a larger NWO research project) on ethics and corruption in Dutch public administration between 1750 and 1850. Toon Kerkhoff is a member of the NIG, and teaches several undergraduate courses in Public Administration on Organization Theory, Public Management and History of Public Administration.
