The Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences offers extra opportunities to small groups of students whose performance is excellent and whose abilities and wishes go beyond the standard programmes.

- About the Honours Classes
- The Social and Behavioural Sciences offers three Honour's Classes in different fields of study. Most Honours Classes consist of 12 lectures, preferably held in English, often by international appreciated scientists, which require the active participation of the students attending.
- Target group
- The classes are meant for all third-year Dutch and international bachelor's students of Leiden University.

- Human aging: from brain to society (Deadline application: December 1, 2009)
- Federalism, Decentralisation and Multi-Governance (Deadline application: December 1, 2009)
- Globalisation (Deadline application: January 15, 2010)
- Admission requirements
- nominal study,
- average rating ≥ 7.5,
- broad scientific and/or social interest,
- commitment and
- perseverance.
- Practical details
- Each Honours Class will be limited to a maximum of twelve to fifteen participants, and will take place in the spring of 2010. The classes will mostly be scheduled on Fridays and will be preceded (or followed) by lunch for the students and the guest lecturers.
- Graduation
- A joint graduation ceremony will be held to present certificates to those who have participated in these Honour Classes.
