25 April, 2013: Science Alliance Conference - The Impact of Science
On April 25, 2013, Science Alliance organizes an international conference on the Impact of Science. The conference focuses on the measurement and optimization of the value and potential of science for its different stakeholders (e.g., policymakers, business and research managers). Paul Wouters and Cornelis van Bochove are amongst the invited speakers. During plenary sessions and workshops, different stakeholders will debate about the value and impact of science on society and discuss how to measure and demonstrate this in practice. Combining the views of bibliometricians, university managers, public & corporate R&D managers and policy makers, this conference will give different perspectives on how to:
• Measure the value & impact of science on society
• Demonstrate what the return on investment of science is
• Enhance the use and appreciation of scientific outputs by policymakers, business and research management
• Report scientific results to different investors in science
The conference will be held in Amsterdam, Felix Meritis, Keizersgracht 324.
